Almost outta here...

I leave for Texas this week. I have one more day at work, tomorrow, then all I have to do is load up the Surburban and drive to Texas. I only have a few things more to pack. I should know about my housing today. MUST call and get highspeed internet set up. That is an absolute must have. Can't face life without highspeed internet.

Still sick...

But what is even worse is that Mr. Morgan is coming down with it as well. He called in sick this morning. I really don't care, but I am going to get nothing done today. He is going to be underfoot and whining all day long. And I really have a lot to do today. We leave for Texas in less than two week. I still have so much to do.

Well, I must get off my butt and get some of it done.

Thursday Thirteen

Things I have helped remove or seen removed from the human body (Some I'll tell you from where, others you will have to guess)....

1. 3 golf balls

2. Gatorade bottle

3. A can of shaving cream

4. Electric toothbrush (still running)

5. Cockroaches (always in ears)

6. An apple and a jar of grape jelly (Smuckers seriously needs to talk to someone about their product placement)

7. Glass Coke Bottle

8. Untold numbers of adult toys

9. A glue stick

10. A Rock (shoved up a 2 year-old's nose)

11. Car Keys (If your boyfriend is trying to leave, your vagina is the last place he will look for his keys. Just make sure you can reach them)

12. A flashlight still on. (The look on the doctor's face when we got the patient up in stirrups was priceless.)

13. A fork, tines down. (Apparently, you should never piss off a bunch of frat boys then pass out at their house.)

These have all occured in the last 3 and a half years since I started in the ER.

I'm sick...

It was about 35 degrees and raining yesterday when I was moving things to our storage unit. About 4:30, I started coughing and hacking. I couldn't breathe. I was wheezing. They took one look at me and sent me home, with scripts. This morning, I am not much better.

I hate being sick.

UGH!!!! Moving

So today while Mr. Morgan is working, I am taking things over to our storage unit. We are giving away our guest bedroom furniture and sofa. We had an apartment complex burn down here about a week and a half ago, leaving many families with nothing. So we are taking the opportunity to reduce the amount of things we have to store.

Actually, I can't wait to hit the road and start traveling.

Ideas at the strangest times

OK, somewhere in the utter chaos of the Emergency Room I had an idea for a new story. You should have seen my co workers faces when the first thing I do when I walk out of the room is grab my notebook and start scrawling down notes.

So I had a good idea, hopefully something will come of it.

Accumulated Junk

So my husband and I have decided to be travel nurses for awhile. The benefits are really great. The housing is furnished, and if we really don't like the hospitals, we only have to be there for 3 months. The plan is to do this for a couple of years, save the money to buy a house, and we get to explore the country. The added benefit is that this is suppossed to give me more time to research and write. We will both be making more money doing this.

And now for the downside. We own too much stuff. I bought a Suburban this week so that we will have enough room for all our things. In two hours last night I gathered up 2 large garbage bags of clothes to take to Goodwill. I haven't touched Mr. Morgan's stuff yet. He would be perfectly content to get rid of everything and buy new.

We have a little over 3 weeks to put everything in storage and get to Texas for the first assignment. He hasn't balked at all when I told him our summer assignments have to be where ever the RWA convention is. Dallas area this summer, San Franciso next year. The hardest thing is putting all of my precious books in a box and maybe not seeing them again for 2 years. Going to be buying more ebooks for their portability. And the fact he won't know how many I own. Sneaky, I know.

But I have been going through things wondering why we have kept them this long. I have a 13 year old suede skirt. It still fits. I have maybe worn it 20 times. Why do I still own this? The list goes on and on...

Real Life Interferes Again

Work has really been just about all I could take this week. I was scheduled for 60 hours this week. Then a family emergency cropped up on Thursday morning. So I spent most of the morning at the hospital after working the night before. I missed Thursday night at work. So I got nothing done. My sleep cycle is all messed up. So I will be awake for 27 hours before I get to sleep again.
